Tributes flow for ‘much loved’ Whitchurch pub manager killed in Germany

Tributes have poured in for Rebecca Bullock, the “much loved” manager of a Buckinghamshire village pub, who died after a stabbing at a railway station in Germany. Ms Bullock, 31 and known to all as Becca, was fatally attacked in the early hours of Sunday 30 August at Rosenheim station in Bavaria; German police detained a 27-year-old man at the scene, who has been remanded to a secure psychiatric hospital on suspicion of murder in what authorities are treating as an apparently random killing.
Becca ran The White Swan in Whitchurch, near Aylesbury, which closed its doors and led the tributes on social media, describing her as beloved by the whole team and the pub’s “amazing locals.” A keen runner and horsewoman, she had thrown herself into village life and charity work, reportedly raising around £900 at a pub fundraiser for a seriously ill local girl just a week before her death. Parish council vice-chairman Richard Shuffill said she had been “a breath of fresh air” who turned The Swan into the heart of the community in the couple of years she was there, adding that her loss had come as a profound shock. A sea of floral tributes has been left outside the pub, and the Foreign Office confirmed it is supporting her family.
